Obituary of Barry Stephen Landry

Please share a memory of Barry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
LANDRY, Barry It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Barry Stephen Landry, of Thorburn on 16th of February, at the age of 79 years young. He passed at home peacefully with his wife by his side, right where he wanted to be. He will be lovingly remembered by the love of his life of 58 years, Carol; children, Debbie(Lauchie) and Derek (Angie); grandchildren, Robyn (Travis), Kayla (Evan), Matt (Melanie and family), Claire, Sean, Evy and Aurora; great grandchildren, Hunter, Kaidence, Tucker, Hudson, Holden and Briar; as well as numerous relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Stephen Amis Landry and Eileen Mae (Davis); sister, Aileen MacIsaac; and great grandson, Barry Malcolm Carty. Barry was a welder for 42 years in Trenton. He played pick up hockey and ball. His passion when he was younger was snooker and he was Maritime Champion in 2001. Barry spent his days camping, playing guitar with many of his buddies, enjoying a happy hour (or two), cracking jokes and laughing with all that were around him. The biggest accomplishment of his life was his wife and he made sure everyone knew how proud he was to have her by his side. They created a beautiful life together that was filled with joy, family and get-togethers that had no shortage of love. Losing someone so special is absolutely devastating. He was the heart of our family and seeing the way everyone is grieving shows just how amazing he truly was. We are all better people for having had him in our lives and although this pain is so deep, we are grateful for the time we had together. His love, strength and warmth will live on in each of us. Rest in peace, you will forever be missed but never forgotten. The family would like to send special thanks to Dr. Chiasson, Palliative Care (Debbie Williams and Dr. Farrell), and VON. Cremation will take place, with a burial at a later date. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Palliative Care. A Celebration of Life is being held for Barry at Stellarton Fire Hall on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 4-7 PM. We ask that you come to share a story, a laugh and raise a glass to toast such an amazing man!
