Sending warm hugs to you all. Sylvia was one of the most loving ladies I’ve had the pleasure to know. She lived her faith to the fullest & was an example to all of what we should strive to be. Her quiet loving demeanour was contagious. Her smile was heaven sent. My late husband Rev Gordie also thought the world of her. I still have one of her clay houses she gave us one Christmas many years ago & cherish it as it holds many memories of Sylvia & Allister. May God keep you all in the hollow of his hand & bless you & give you strength during these days knowing that your parents/grandparents are reunited again. Sorry I was unable to attend Sylvia’s service as we are away. Blessings, Heather MacLean

An absolutely wonderful lady with an incredible life story. Pictou seemed like a "home port" to our family and every visit on the way from PEI to CB was a event to be treasured. Memories of MacDonald Family gatherings on Whycocomagh (Salt) Mountain and Baddeck were wonderful and usually surrounded by celtic music. Our connections to Wilburn (Southside) run deep and are often fondly listened to in John Spyder's "Wilburn Waltz" (by Sea by Land).
If anyone could claim title to being "a ray of sunshine" it surely was Sylvia. I suspect she helped turn my Dad into a "Happy Hooker" and he subsequently produced many handmade rugs in his retirement. Our little "Pictou Wimsey" holds a prominent spot in our living room - a precious reminder of a "beautiful butterfly" on a warm summers day.
From Lye in the West Midlands to Pictou and points in between, Sylvia will be fondly remembered as a most gracious lady, wonderful mother and community leader. On the sea of life, a true family anchor. Her spirit will always be seen in every family tree member's smile. She will be missed.

Hello, my deepest condolences to the family. Sylvia was a lovely neighbor just up the hill from us. My sister Rachel spent many happy times at her house playing with Kim during their childhood. I had the pleasure of being a member of the Garden club with her. The summer garden tour of her flowers and tea was always a treat for all the members. I remember a year back or so asking J Spyder one evening at Pictou lodge about a wonderful anniversary Ship Hector hooked rug my sister recently purchased, but did not know much about. Now Sylvia will be able to see it. Our thoughts are with you.

Mom (Kay) and Dad (Steve) new Sylvia very well from the Noteable Friends and they really thought the world of her. Later on I got to know here too and I understood why. What a sweetheart. What a lovely person she was. Gosh, we will all miss her so much. But being such a kind and gentle soul, I am sure there will be a room in the mansion in heaven with her name on it. God Bless the MacDonalds and we send our heartfelt condolences to you ALL. We will all meet again :0)
