LANGILLE, Geoff

River John

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces of the sudden passing of Geoffrey Arthur Langille, on Sunday, January 6, 2019, at the age of 60, at his home.  A lifelong resident of River John, he was a son of the late Thelma (Zinck) and Arthur Langille.  Geoff had a great love and compassion for his family and friends.  He was known to all as having a big heart.  Geoff was the go-to person in our family and hosted many barbeques and potlucks for all to enjoy.  Geoff was a baseball coach for many years, host to Crew 1 parties, and enjoyed golfing.  He retired from Michelin in 2008 after 30 years and continued to enjoy strong friendships with his many friends, which he treasured.  He was an avid Toronto Maple Leaf and Toronto Blue Jay fan and enjoyed participating in hockey pools. He never missed an opportunity to tease anyone who wasn’t a Maple Leaf fan.  He will be lovingly and sadly missed by siblings, Nancy (Jim) MacLeod, Sheila Langille, Sharon (Wayne) Langille, Darren (Tammy) Langille, all of River John; Brad (Wendy) Langille, Fall River; sister-in-law, Donna Langille, Welland, Ontario; step mother, Laura Langille, Pictou; and aunt, Bertha (Colin) Douglas, River John.  He will be dearly missed by his many nieces and nephews, all of whom he made feel special, and who he had nicknames for.  He never missed a birthday or Christmas to spoil them.  Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Ted; sister in infancy, Winnie; brother-in-law, Everett; and nephew, Trevor Langille.  Cremation has taken place.  A private family graveside service will be held at Cape John Cemetery on Saturday, followed by a Celebration of Life at the River John Legion from 2-4 PM.  Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. www.mclarenfuneral.ca
