Obituary of James A. Garvin
With great sadness we announce the passing of Jim Garvin, age 64 of Scotsburn, on December 5, 2017 in the Palliative Care Unit, Aberdeen Hospital, surrounded by his family. Born May 3, 1953in New Glasgow he was a son of the late Clem and Irene (Higgins) Garvin. Jim enjoyed camping with his grandchildren. He loved bowling, cards and spending time with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 41 years, Beverly (MacKenzie); his two children, Amanda (Kelly McAloney), Pictou and Terry (Jaime), Truro; two grandchildren. Abbie, Jax and step-grandchild, Jade; sisters, Betha Fahie (Reg) Dartmouth; Marilyn Blackmore (Skip), Truro; Mary White (Brian), Truro; sisters-in-law, Janet (Gary Fraser) and Mary Anthony, Scotsburn; extended family, Donnie, Laurie, Noah and Josh Graham, Scotsburn; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Barb Black, Ruth Bushulak, Pam Beal, Patsy Garvin; and brothers, John Charles and Joseph Lawrence. A special thank you goes to Dr. Anne Kwasnik, Dr. Farrell, Debbie Williams, Rhonda Langille, Bonne McCarron, the nursing staff of Palliative Care. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 PM Friday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday from Bethel Presbyterian Church, Scotsburn, with Jacquie Ross officiating.
