In memory of Lee-Ann Lyons (McCully), 1949-2019

69 years young, of Pictou, NS, formerly of Truro.  She died at sunrise on St. Patrick’s Day, in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, with both of “her boys” at her side.  A gentle, peaceful, and courageous passing followed a recent cancer diagnosis.  She bravely sailed away in the light of the morning sun, leaving not only a legacy of love, but a teachable moment in how to face death with courage, strength, & poise.  She was born on June 30th, 1949, the youngest of three children to Robert & Goldye Lyons.  She is predeceased by her sister Lyn Lyons (Tetreault) and survived by her brother Robert Lyons.  In addition to rejoining the family circle of her predeceased parents & sister, Lee-Ann is also reunited with her first-born son Alan Patton.  Lee-Ann is also survived by her sons, Terry McCully (Dinah Ortega) & Benjamin McCully (Jennifer Arruda), who provided her a granddaughter each, Emma & Helena respectively; the absolute pride & joy of Lee-Ann’s life. She is survived by nieces, Patty Tetreault (Alana Cassidy), Suzy Nadeau (Tony), & nephews, John Tetreault (Kim Richardson), & Dylan Lyons (Tara Heath).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Palliative Care Society of the Aberdeen Hospital, whose incredible staff not only greatly assisted Lee-Ann in her journey, but left an everlasting mark on her loved ones who visited with her in the final days.  The family wishes to express limitless gratitude for also assisting the journey of Lee-Ann’s sister Lyn, & father Robert.  A Service will be held at 11AM Friday in St. James Anglican Church, Pictou with Rev Darlene Jewers officiating with a reception to follow.  Her cremated remains will be laid to rest amongst family at Seaview Cemetery during a private ceremony at a later date.
