Douglas Earl Corbett -68, of Pictou, passed away peacefully April 22, 2019 under the watchful eye of his family and the Palliative Care Nursing staff. He was a hard working mechanic who operated his own Towing & Automotive Company for many years within his community. He worked at the Pictou Shipyard as a Crane Operator while working to obtain his mechanic license. He was a jack of all trades and master of some. He was often found working on any old rig on most days including holidays. He is survived by his estranged wife, Betty Corbett and their two children, Tanya Corbett (Jason MacDonald), Loch Broom; and Kent of Central Caribou; grandchild, Ciara MacDonald; brothers, Ernie, Sunrise Trail; Layton, Hedgeville; and Joe (Lillian MacIntosh), Central Caribou; sisters, Harriet Stapleton, Westville; Isabelle Morrison (Arnold), British Colombia; and Muriel Bezanson (George), West Branch; sisters-in-law, Janet Corbett, Pictou; and Theresa Corbett, Central Caribou; brother–in-law, Ernie Walsh, New Glasgow; and his beloved fur babies, his cats. He was predeceased by his parents, Lisby and Elizabeth (Stewart) Corbett; brothers, Harold Johnson, Eli, Stanley, Wallace; sisters, Mabel, Alma, Dolly; sisters-in-law, Doreen and Juanita and brothers-in-law, John Marshall and Miller Stapleton. Arrangements have been entrusted to McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 25 from 7 to 9 PM and Friday, April 26 from 4 to 6 PM with a Graveside Service to follow a procession to the Central Caribou Cemetery.
