WOODACRE, Brenda L.

Pictou

Brenda Lee Woodacre -61, with broken hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Brenda surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.  Left to mourn are her son, Justin; sisters, Diane (Richard Sherman), Gail (Bouy MacDonald), Myrna (Scott Aitken); brother, Kendall (Ronalda); sisters-in-law, Ruth and Leslye; many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents, Eleanor and Jim Woodacre; brothers, Bevan, Wayne, and Blaine.  Brenda was dearly loved and will be missed by the staff and residents of Shiretown Nursing Home and Ivy’s Terrace, where she worked for 39 years.  She will also be missed by her little buddy, Patsy.  Her son Justin was the love of her life.  They took many fun trips together over the years.  A place dear to her heart was Pictou Island, where she loved to spend her free time with Connie and Susan and made many lasting friendships.  The family would like to thank Dr. Burrill, Dr. Kwasnik, the staff of Palliative Care Unit and V.O.N for all their care. Visitation will be held 6-9 PM Saturday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou, from where the Service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Burial will follow in the Stella Maris Parish Cemetery.  At Brenda’s request, family flowers only please and donations in her memory may be made to the Recreation Department of Ivy’s Terrace or Shiretown Nursing Home.  Always the planner and prankster, loved to laugh and torment right to the end, our ‘sister trips’ will never be the same.  www.mclarenfuneral.ca
