MORRISON, Connie M. Hardwood Hill Cornelia ‘Connie’ Margaret Morrison -88, of Scotsburn, died peacefully on February 7, 2020 at Arborstone Enhanced Care in Halifax. She was predeceased by her parents, Harriet and Herbert MacDonald; two sisters, Jennie McInnes, Elsie Ferguson, and the love of her life, John ‘Dubby’ Morrison. A loving mother and homemaker, she often talked about growing up on the farm in Scotch Hill. The lure of adventure led her to Goose Bay, New York and Toronto where she met Dad. As the wife of a military man, she expanded her horizons travelling extensively throughout Europe, Quebec, Ontario and much of Eastern Canada finally making her way back to Hardwood Hill in Pictou County. An exceptional wife and mother caring deeply for her children, she embraced all life had to offer. She was always at her happiest while quilting and spending time with her family. Nanny and Grampie spent many a summer in a crowded camper van exploring all the Maritimes had to offer with five grandkids in tow, GOD BLESS HER HEART. Even as her journey on this earth faded when her grandkids or great grandkids visited she would smile that beautiful smile. She is survived by her children, John (Anne) Morrison, Doris (Wade) Ryerson, Tom (Lorna) Morrison; brothers, Vincent (Joan) Heighton, Herbert (Muriel) MacDonald; sister, Doris Jones; 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Service will be held at the Bethel Presbyterian Church in Scotsburn on Thursday, February 20th at 3PM a reception to follow in the Church Hall. Burial will be in Scotch Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Make-A-Wish Foundation. www.mclarenfuneral.ca
