I knew Doug. I knew him for the last 2 years. My father was in Ivy's Terrace and passed away at the end of March. I visited my father all the time and I made friends with many of the residents, Doug included. I am a blond. He called me his girlfriend. 1 Christmas my brother came with his guitar and all of my family was there singing Christmas carols, there was definitely a lot more women than men in the circle and we invited Doug into our group. He was in heaven. All my sweet young granddaughters and nieces were there and he was in his glory. Doug and I always connected, and I made him laugh. I helped him when I could, and I feel very privileged to have known him. I heard him play his accordion once and it was beautiful. I only wish that covid-19 hadn't robbed me of my last opportunities to see Doug before he passed. I only got to see my father for three days before he passed. God bless Doug and I know that he is in heaven with his mummy, and I know that he's making people laugh, and that he's playing beautiful music, and he can now run with the wind.
