As a Pictonian I am deeply sorry that Dinnie has passed away.
I attended School with him and he gave me the nickname "409". We both liked vehicles and it was the top Chev engine motor at the time.
I have many special memories of growing up with him in Pictou.
Our condolences to Laura and Katie and all of his family.
Philip and Anne Landry.

Our friend Dinny passed away yesteday.
We were neighbors here in St. Thomas for a few years and continued to be friends after. I sold their home so they could retire and move back to Nova Scotia. Dave and I planned on visiting.... we talked about it often... i even had air b and bs saved in Pictu where we could stay... i looked forward to the fresh lobster, sleeman brewery and the moonshine like milk drink Dinny told me I wouldn't leave my chair after I drank it lol. This photo was taken the day before they moved away. We got to talk to Dinny a few weeks ago and he was just the same. A kind and loving man who just had a way of making you feel special and loved.
Don't wait to visit people... life is to short.
Laura Cheverie and Katie, our hearts break for you. Dinny loved you girls so much and it showed. So long my friend, until we meet again. We won't ever forget you

My first memory of Simon was at the coffee machine at work 8 years ago. I had just started with Presstran, he welcomed me with open arms..literally. We spoke pretty much daily after that first encounter. He shared with me the secret to his amazing looking grass and how I too could have l the best looking lawn in town. He would often drop in and do the yard tour to inspect his suggestions. His secret is one I still share today.
During the care of my father Simon always checked in to see how I was doing as well as how my dad was. He comforted me with some wise words once he passed.
Before the family moved Simon brought me a lawn ornament that I still have in my garden today, we talked about our lawns and where the ornament would be every year, that ornament was cherished the day he gave it to me and is even more so now.
A mutual friend became ill and Simon and I remained in closed contact with updates until her passing, we cried together and again he offered me some wise words.
He always end our conversations with an "I love you kiddo" words I will forever miss.
My heart and prayers go out to Laura and Katie at this very difficult time, the lose of such an amazing man will take time to heal. Take care of each other. Soar high with the Angels Simon you certainly earned your wings. Sarah Renshaw
