Over the years Joyce worked at the Maritime Oddfellows Home, as the supervisor and lunch monitor at Pictou Elementary School, and spent many years as a Sunday School Teacher, where she was an active member of the Stella Maris Parish. Joyce had a great sense of humor and a smile to light up the room. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee, Cribbage, walking, photography, Facebook and music. She also loved her new addition to the family, her fur baby Max, and watching Hockey with her family. Her biggest accomplishment was her beautiful children and her love for her family. She crossed paths with many people over the years and will be remembered as a great friend to many and a wonderful mom. She will be missed deeply but never forgotten. Thanks to the Pictou Community, Dr. Farrell, Dr. Burrill, V.O.N, CCA, RCU, also everyone who helped with the fundraiser, food, cards, etc. It was most appreciated. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou on Friday from 6-9 PM. Donations in Joyce’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. www.mclarenfuneral.ca
