BUCKLEY (Zwicker), Shirley Elaine
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Shirley Elaine Buckley, beloved wife of Fred Buckley of Sundridge, on August 27th, 2020 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Shirley was born in Dartmouth, on August 20, 1935, one of 15 children born to Frank and Mary (Bray) Zwicker. Shirley spent much of her time thinking of others, never missing a birthday or thoughtful gift for 28 grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and diligently sent her completed Lexicon into the newspaper every Friday. Her strong spirit was demonstrated everyday in all that she gave to her husband, her family, and those around her. She will be dearly missed by Fred, her husband of 67 years; her children, Shannon (Doug) Grant, Abercrombie; Terry (Tiena) Buckley, Sundridge; Melody (Dale) Bigney, Sundridge; Holly (Scott) Hale, Westville; and Heather Buckley, Westville; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren with a 15th expected in March, 2021. Also surviving are brothers, Frank (Carol), Durham; Bruce (Sheila), Dartmouth; Wayne, Alberta; Dale (Sheri), Alberta; sisters, Eileen (Austin), British Columbia; Bonnie Ross, Scotch Hill; Linda (Seymour) Publicover, Caribou River; Nancy Lunn (Fred Church), Brooklyn; Debbie (Peter) Canning, Thorburn; and sisters-in-law, Diane, Jean, Carolyn, and Linda Zwicker; as well as brothers-in-law, Clarence (Jane) Buckley, and Norman (Shirley) Buckley, Saint John, NB. Besides her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her brothers, Ross, Gary, Brian, and David; sister, Isabel; and grandson, Bryan Travis Morrison. A graveside ceremony will be held at 3 P.M. on Tuesday in the Scotch Hill Cemetery.
