LANGILLE, Constance “Connie”
Trenton/Pictou
LANGILLE, Constance “Connie” Age 94 of Trenton and formerly of Pictou, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Ivey’s Terrace Nursing Home, Trenton on Sunday November 1, 2020. Born on July 27, 1926 in Wolsingham, County Durham, England, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Evelyn (Thompson) Walker. The family immigrated to Canada in April 1948 and lived for a short time with her maternal grandparents on their farm in Lyons Brook. They later moved to Pictou where Connie met her husband Bob. In July 1976 Connie and her parents proudly became Canadian Citizens. Loving to travel, she often made trips to England and Bermuda with family. After Bob’s passing she spent vacations travelling the Maritimes with her family. With a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s in late 2011 she moved into Shiretown Nursing Home residing there until August 2014 when she moved to Ivey’s Terrace in Trenton. We have been fortunate that mum’s Alzheimer’s progressed slowly which allowed us to continue to have meaningful conversations. Connie was predeceased by her husband, Bob “Robert J”; daughter, Debbie and brother, Norman. She is survived by daughter, Pam (James) Cameron, Trenton; son, Ian, Vancouver; grandchildren, Stephanie Canning, New Glasgow; Lindsay (Chris) Hurley, Charles Cameron, Trenton; great-grandchildren, Emma Canning, Fionn, Aevalyn and Ayla Hurley; son-in-law, Russell Canning, Trenton; sister-in-law, Kay Walker, Stellarton; as well as many nieces and nephews. In keeping with mum’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral. Interment will take place at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Ivey’s Terrace who treated her with such care and compassion.
