Obituary of Catherine Jean Goodall

Please share a memory of Catherine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our beautiful mother, sister, grandmother, and valued friend to many, passed away on November 27, 2020. We are left with many wonderful memories but also a deep ache in our hearts. She was born and raised in Popular Hill, Pictou County and often reminisced of her early years growing up on the farm. After raising a family of her own, she joined the workforce as a personal care worker at the Maritime Old Fellows Home in Pictou. This position allowed her to share her deeply compassionate and caring nature with others, and it was a job she thoroughly enjoyed. Mom spent her whole life caring for her family and others; consistently putting the needs/wants of others ahead of her own. She had a tremendous work ethic and the determination to push through difficult times. She was not one to complain and preferred the simpler things in life. She loved to dance and listen to music, and was always keen for a practical joke or shenanigans. Mom was an avid baker/cook, and loved her plants and flowers. Remembering Mom would not be complete without recognizing her as an accomplished crib player and card shark. It was never a matter of whether you would win or lose against her, but rather, whether you would be skunked or double-skunked. Mom will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her children, George (Monica), Leroy (Lori), Danny (Margorie), Everett, Doug (Darlene), Cathy (Walter) Fanning, Gladys (Craig) Fraser. She also leaves behind her daughter-in-law Debbie Lochead; sisters Margaret MacArthur, Elizabeth (Bobby) MacKenzie, Martha (Douglas) Farquhar, Beatrice Munroe; sisters-in-law Shirley Clark, Mary Clark and Marie Langille, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and father of the children, Ronald Goodall. Mom was predeceased by her parents LeeRoy & Minnie (MacKay) Clark, beloved son, Walter, brothers Alvin, Russell, Albert, Lewie, and brothers-in-law, Ken MacArthur and James Munroe. We would like to thank all the staff at Wynn Park Villa, as well as the Colchester Palliative Care Team and VON for their care and compassion over the past few years, and especially during Mom’s final days. Arrangements have been entrusted to McLaren’s Funeral Home, 246 Faulkland Street, Pictou. Cremation has taken place, and there will be an outdoor celebration of life and committal service at Heatherdale Memorial Garden in Sylvester, on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Masks and social distancing will be in affect. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Wynn Park Villa Recreation Department. www.mclarenfuneral.ca To view the Service for Catherine, please click on the link below: https://play.webvideocore.net/popplayer.php?it=5j0e34svapcs&is_link=1&w=720&h=405&pause=1&title=Recording #a9fj07fj45c0 (Dec 03, 2020 11:54:02)&skin=3&repeat=&brandNW=1&start_volume=100&bg_gradient1=%23ffffff&bg_gradient2=%23e0e0e0&fullscreen=1&fs_mode=2&skinAlpha=50&colorBase=%23250864&colorIcon=&colorHighlight=%237f54f8&direct=false&no_ctrl=&auto_hide=1&viewers_limit=0&cc_position=bottom&cc_positionOffset=70&cc_multiplier=0.03&cc_textColor=%23ffffff&cc_textOutlineColor=%23ffffff&cc_bkgColor=%23000000&cc_bkgAlpha=0.1&image=https://static1.webvideocore.net/i/stores/2/items/bg/c/c4/c4b9a34b51a9c27a23cde24062b45247.jpg&mainBg_Color=%23ffffff&aspect_ratio=16%3A9&play_button=true&play_button_style=pulsing&sleek_player=0&stretch=0
