STEWART, Ailsa ‘Ace’ Pictou Ailsa Christina Stewart -61, of Pictou, passed away peacefully December 25, 2020 at home in her sleep, after a short struggle with cancer. Formerly of Brockville & Burlington, ON., Calgary, AB., and Lennoxville, Que., Ailsa or ‘Ace’ as she was called by her family, was predeceased by her parents, John and Betsy (Lamb) Stewart; and her beloved companion Finlay. She is survived by her twin sister, Shona, Pictou; brother, Guthrie (Sarah Ivory), Montreal; younger sister, Sheelagh, Waterloo, ON; nieces, Savannah, Caroline and nephew, Charles. Ailsa believed that life should be a variety of experiences in different occupations and enjoyed travelling in between. A favorite trip was spending two months in Africa where she trekked up to visit the mountain gorillas. Finally settling in Nova Scotia where she felt most at home, she dedicated ten years volunteering at the local food bank, serving as Chair of the Board for a short time before her death. Her love of Jehovah and respect for the truth was realized when she discovered one of her favorite scriptures: Psalm 37:29. “Soon, very soon sweet Ace.” Cremation has taken place. There will be no services by request. Donations in Ailsa’s memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society, VON Canada, JW.org or the Pictou West Food Bank.
