Gerald Bernard Jollymore passed away peacefully February 5, 2021 in the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Pictou on February 5, 1933 he was predeceased by Stepfather Daniel MacNeil and Mother Annie (Jollymore) MacNeil. He enjoyed a long career as a sales and marketing representative. Upon retiring, he devoted his remaining years to volunteer work which included Hope Cottage, the Hospitality Ministry, the Seniors Ministry and the Outreach Ministry at Saint Mary’s Cathedral Basilica. He resided at McKeen Manor in Halifax, where he was instrumental in arranging for a priest to come once a month to say mass for the sick and shut-ins of that building. He recently received a 10 year volunteer pin from the QEII Health Sciences Centre. He is survived by his daughter, Shelley Harrison (Stephen), three grandchildren, Connor, Emily and Carter, Ottawa, Ontario; and brother, George MacNeil (Shirley), Porters Lake. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Dartmouth General Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion. A private family service will be held at Saint Mary’s Cathedral Basilica, Halifax. Internment will take place in Stella Maris Roman Catholic Cemetery, Pictou at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Saint Mary’s Cathedral Basilica or a charity of choice.
