BENNETT, John A. Pictou BENNETT, John Alex – age 61, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2021 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Pictou, September 17, 1959 he was a son of the late Harold A. and Beatrice (McCallum) Bennett of Pictou Island. John worked many years in the Construction Industry in both Pictou and Alberta, with his last 20 years spent buying and selling currency, a job he loved the most. John enjoyed the great outdoors, playing cards, board games, watching the news, listening to music and was an avid Toronto Maple Leaf fan. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his two grandchildren. John is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jennifer (Corbett); daughter-in-law, Lisa; grandchildren, Caleb and Lily, Pictou; brothers, Eric (Debbie), Ontario; Harold (Pat), New Glasgow; Mike, New Glasgow; Lyndon, Ontario; sisters, Margaret Fisher, Ontario; Janet (Mike) McCall, North Carolina; Cindy (Kelly), Woods, Alberta, Lori-Dawn, Halifax; sister-in-law, Betty Heighton, Pictou; mother-in-law, Janet Corbett, Pictou; brothers-in-law, David, Pictou; Neal (Annette), Pictou; sisters-in-law, Edith (Gary) Feltmate, Pictou; Sandra (Chuck) Vogel, Airdrie, Alberta; Ann (Darrell), Stony Plain, Alberta; special nephews, Brent (Andrea) Bennett, New Glasgow; Neil (Jesse) Vogel, Cochrane, Alberta; special niece, Stephannee (Mike Ryan), Airdrie, Alberta. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his son, Brian; brothers, Ralph and one in infancy; brother-in-law, Jim Fisher; sister-in-law, Pat. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held in Seaview Cemetery at a later date.
