CYR, Mary H. ‘Betty’ Pictou May 15, 1931 – June 9, 2021 It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear and loving Mother, Mary Hurberte ‘Betty’ Cyr. She left this world peacefully on June 9, 2021. Born in Cape-Pelé, New Brunswick on May 15,1931 the third oldest of 14 siblings to her father the late Amand Ouellette, step-father Abel Brun and mother Marguerite (Arseneau) Ouellette-Brun. When she was 18 she moved to Pictou seeking work, this is where she met the love of her life our father Felix. Betty’s children were the pride and joy of her life, survived today by Linda Rice (Mike), Diane Snow (Robert), George Cyr (Joann), Lise Pettipas (Walter), and Pauline Marks (Robbie). As well as her grandchildren who she adored and loved and will be truly missed Wendy, Max, Gwen, Samantha, Dorothy, Myles, Jonathan, Heidi, Brennan, and Olivia; great-grandchildren, Adalynn, Jack, Beaudie and Jett. Her life was devoted around her strong catholic faith, which brought her comfort and strength during difficult times. An inspiration to us all. Mom always put others before herself, a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with family and friends. Mom was adored and loved by everyone who met her. She enjoyed a great game of cribbage with family and friends and was always there to brighten their lives. It gives us great peace that our loving mother Betty, is now reunited with her preceded stillborn daughter, infant daughter, Mary Ann and infant son, Norman, her loving husband, Felix, and a great-granddaughter, Natalie. Betty’s family would like to take this time to thank Dr. S. Ohson her attending physician while at her home for his attentive care and support, Pictou County VON, EHS Paramedics, Dr. A. Kwasnik and the Aberdeen Palliative Care Team, Glen and his staff at Pictou Pharmacare, and the staff at River Glen - Glen Haven Manor for their kindness, empathy and compassion during Mom’s final days of her life. Many thanks to McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou for final arrangements provided to Mom and our family. Cremation has taken place and family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or Stella Maris Cemetery Fund Pictou. At this time the family would like to thank all those who cared and supported for Mom over the last few years during her illness. Wherever a beautiful soul has been there is a trail of beautiful memories.
