DIGDON, Barbara Alison Pictou On October 27, 2021, Barb Digdon no longer gave cancer a home. With insurmountable strength, dignity and grace, she passed away surrounded by the people she loved most, her children. Barb grew up in Mulgrave, NS with her five sisters, Lorraine, Gloria, Carol, Nancy and Sharon and brother Terry; her chosen sister, Millie Landry (Ryan) and her loving parents, Roy and Ruth Digdon. Married to Walter Bouchie in 1976, they lived in Cape Breton but made their home, Pictou, NS where they raised their three children. Barb wore many hats throughout her career, amazing at all of them, but it was her time as a hairstylist and nail technician that brought her the most joy. She opened her home to everyone and fought hard to make sure everyone left feeling just a little bit better. Barb will be missed by all who knew her, and will be at the card table in heaven with her dear friend Debbie. Barb was heartbroken to lose her parents, Roy and Ruth Digdon (Scranton); sisters, Carol Digdon, Gloria Digdon; ex-husband, Walter Bouchie, dear friend, Tish and Patrick Swayze. Her favourite pastimes were reading, chatting with all of her dear friends, Survivor nights with Bella, fetching her youngest daughter, dropping in unexpectedly to the farm, making sure her Kennedy's were well fed and Dollarstore'd, and especially her Friday night facetimes with her son and his family. An avid traveller, she chased her dreams and her son around the world. She will be forever missed by her oldest daughter, Antonia Phillips (Chris); only son, Troy Bouchie (Olga) and youngest daughter, Chandra Bouchie (Will). She will live forever through her grandchildren, Isabella Talarico (Heels to the ground!), Aleksandr and Sofia Bouchie (Nana loves you) Kaylee, William, Ashton and Jase Kennedy (Barbie loves you all); sisters, Lorraine and Sharon Digdon; brother, Terry Ehler (Leanne) and everyone who had the good fortune to truly know her. Visitation will be held Sunday October 31, 2021 from 1-3 PM at McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. COVID-19 Restrictions will be in place. Masks will be mandatory and proof of dual vaccination required. A private burial will be held at the Haliburton Cemetery. Donations in Barb’s memory may be made to the The Lodge that Gives, Halifax, NS or the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society, New Glasgow
