WILSON, Elizabeth “Betty” (Douglas)

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth “Betty” Wilson, age 92, on March 7, 2022 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Pictou, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Lillian (McGuire) Douglas. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Doug Wilson and her sisters, Matilda “Tillie” and Helen “Diggy”. Betty was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and sister who will be deeply missed by her daughter, Judy Hislop, Pictou; granddaughters, Kelly (John), Ottawa; and Jan, Waterside; and her brother, William "Billy" Douglas, Pictou. The family is grateful to the wonderful caregivers whose kindness and attentiveness helped Betty to remain at home in her later years. We are also thankful for the compassionate care Betty received in the hospital’s Palliative Care Unit. A private service will be held at a later date. In recognition of Betty’s love of cats, donations in her memory may be made to either the Pictou County SPCA or the Pictou County Chapter of CARMA (Cat Rescue Maritimes). www.mclarenfuneral.ca
