Obituary of Sandra Lee Knowles

KNOWLES, Sandra L. Pictou On Thursday April 14, 2022 Sandra Lee Knowles (MacMillan), 74 of Pictou, passed away peacefully at the Aberdeen hospital, New Glasgow. She was a daughter of the late Charles and Eleanor MacMillan. Sandra was born in pictou on August 15, 1947. She grew up on Pictou Island then later moved to Pictou where she met her husband, John growing their family together for 52 years. Sandra worked for 20 years as a crossing guard and enjoyed every moment of it. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a deep love for animals of any kind and enjoyed spending time with her fur babies. She is survived by her children, Stacy (Matt), Timmy, Jody (Derek), Jonathan and Chris; grandchildren, Christopher, Sabrina, Matthew and JC; great-grandchildren, Makaveli, Hudson and Akhari; step mother, Margaret Macmillan; sisters, Ann, Debbie and brother, Ross. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, John; sister, Jean; brother, Jackie and fur baby, Titus. The family wishes to thank the nurses of the Intensive Care Unit, doctors and staff at the Aberdeen hospital for their care and compassion. Visitation will be held Sunday May 29 from 6-8 PM at McLaren Funeral Home. Service will take place Monday May 30 at 3 PM in McLaren Funeral Home Chapel with Jacquie Ross officiating. Donations in Sandra's name may be made to the Pictou SPCA.
