My condolences to Elaine's family and many friends. I had the absolute pleasure spending time with Elaine on few of the girls' trips to Pictou Island and with celebrating our "60th" Birthdays together in Cuba. I was so sad to hear of her passing. Her spirit will live on I'm sure. Edith MacKay

Elaine was such a positive force in life. I knew her through the Cape to Cape Trails Committee. She was huge with us - to the point that she went and got training to train Hike Leaders with the Outdoor Council of Canada! No problem for Elaine. She tackled every issue and task with enthusiasm and energy. I only knew her for about 7 years as a hiker and Cape to Cape Trail person, but I knew I could always count on Elaine. She helped me out on many YMCA hikes that I lead. She never said no to anything. She was effervescent and as tough as they come. I cannot believe our Elaine is gone. We are much worse off for the loss, but the better for having known her. We will miss her much.

To The Falconer Family;
We are all so saddened by Elaine's passing, as she was so vibrant and healthy until this so sudden an end. It reminds us that one needs to celebrate life and live it to the fullest every minute of every day. That is exactly what Elaine always did and what she would want us to do too, I'm sure of that. And we can be consoled that the end is just a new beginning and we can hope to see her again in another, better place. God Bless you all.

There was not a more positive or active person in River John than Elaine. She was such a beacon of light on River John Action Society . She came on as a director with great ideas of fundraising for us, involving water sporting events . And she was so funny (with those big eyes and the huge smile) acting in the ( previous) annual Ladies Auxiliary women’s night out events. Such a great personality. And she was so dedicated to her family , especially her grandkids and outdoor sports. For the winter issue of the Pioneer (the last) she sent more great photos than anyone else of outdoor activities with grand kids and others. Have a look, what a tribute to her! Wouldn’t it be great to have an annual ( outdoor) event in her honour!
I am sorry to rattle on, you all know this and must be devastated at her passing. Please accept my sincere condolences.
