O’BRIEN, Agnes Pictou O’BRIEN, Agnes -82 of Pictou passed away peacefully June 11th, 2022 at home surrounded by her family. Born on May 24th, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Bill and Margaret (MacDonald) Lamey of Westville. She was an active member of Stella Maris Catholic Church, a member of the CWL for over thirty years, and there was no one that she ever met that did not find themselves drawn in for a hug and into a place in her heart. As a military wife, and the strength behind the uniform, Agnes travelled well beyond the familiar streets of Westville to Gagetown, NB; across Europe, before returning to her heart’s home and settling in Pictou. She loved to dance, to laugh, and she had always had the best story for all occasions. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Bill; daughter, Wendy (Scott) Crosby, Pictou; granddaughter, Vanessa (Andrew) MacNeil and great-grandson Declan, of Greenwood; sisters, Ann Davidson (Don), Oromocto, NB; Margie (Grant) Stewart, Stellarton; Sadie Golding, Pictou; brothers, Harry, Westville; Steve (Joan), New Glasgow; sisters-in-law, Rita Ramsey, Dorothy Simpson, Kay O'Brien and Carol O'Brien; brother-in-law, Wilfred (Judy); special cousin, Doug (Marjorie) Watters; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, James, Willie, Cooie, John; sisters-in-law, Diane, Inga, Marie; brothers-in-law James, Leo, and Clarence. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-9 PM in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral Mass will be held 11 AM Thursday from Stella Maris Catholic Church, Pictou, with burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in Agnes’s memory to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choice. www.mclarenfuneral.ca
