Obituary of Diane Phoebe Henderson

HENDERSON, Diane P. Pictou It is with absolute heartbreak that we announce the sudden passing of Diane Phoebe (Heighton) Henderson, 73, at the Aberdeen Hospital, on July 3rd, 2022, with her family by her side. Born in Pictou, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Mabel (Doyle) Heighton. Diane had the biggest heart and most gentle soul. She was not only mother and Nana to her own but to many others as well. Her heart and arms were open to all who needed her. She will be sadly missed by best friend and companion, Gordie Hunter; her son, her "little sunshine", Shaun (Tanya) of Scotsburn; as well as her son, Mark (Nicky), of High River, Alberta; her 6 grandchildren, Tessa, Alicia, Emma, Sara (Logan), Amber (Mike), and Zach, will always think of Nana and smile. Diane will also be greatly missed by her brothers, Gary (Janice), Meadowville; Glen (Cathy), of Pictou; and Brian (Janice) of Hardwood Hill; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Diane was predeceased by her brother, Barry Heighton; and niece, Nicole. Visitation will be held in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou, Wednesday, July 6th, from 6-8 PM. A Catholic Graveside Service will be held at 3 PM on Thursday July 7th, in the Stella Maris Parish Cemetery, with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. There will be a small reception at the Stella Maris Hall in Pictou following the burial.
