PETTIPAS (Cyr), Matilda “Lise” Pictou It is with profound sadness that the family of Matilda “Lise” (Cyr) Pettipas regretfully announces her peaceful passing on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 in Palliative Care at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, at the age of 62 years, surrounded by her loving family. Lise entered this world on February 19, 1960, daughter of the late Felix and Huberte ‘Betty’ Cyr. Lise will be dearly missed by her son, Myles Pettipas; Sisters, Linda Rice (Michael), Diane Snow (Robert), Pauline Marks (Robbie) and Brother George Cyr (Joann). As well as Aunts, Uncles, numerous nieces / nephews, long time friend Bonnie Kennedy and many others, including her former husband Walter Pettipas, Alberta. Lise will also be missed by the staff and residents at Highcrest Place, New Glasgow. Lise will be remembered for her caring and dedicated care as an LPN in both Nova Scotia and Alberta. Although, forced to take earlier retirement due to health issues, she returned to Pictou where she loved spending time with her aging parents and enjoyed her nieces/nephews with whom she shared games of cards, enjoying music or watching a good movie. In her younger years, Lise was active in basketball, tennis, cycling, skating and enjoyed her time spent on her floatie at the beach. Lise walked many miles with her faithful companion, her Jack Russell Terrier, “Chandler”. A special thank you to Dr. Bashar Jazrawi for his caring compassion; Terri Cameron, Mental Health Nurse, for her ongoing support; Jane MacMaster, Eastern Housing Authority and residents of McCarthy Place, Pictou; Staff and residents of Highcrest Place, New Glasgow; also Dr. Anne Kwasnik and the nurses in Palliative Care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Aberdeen Health Foundation Society in support of the Sandbar Mental Health Endowment and/or Pictou County Palliative Care Society. Funeral arrangements are under the care of McLaren’s Funeral Home, Pictou with visitation Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 6 – 9 PM and funeral mass at 11 AM Friday, August 19, 2022 at Stella Maris Church, Pictou.
