I will cherish my memories of the wonderful Dr Skinner. In my youth he was a wonderful family doctor and later became my teacher mentor and friend. I started my family practice with him and he always had time to listen to cases and offer advice. I often in recent years find myself quoting him or wondering what he would say about a situation. He was a bright light of joy to be around and even the most frightened children would warm to him. I know he loved his family dearly and send you all condolences and love in your grief. I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Skinner three times within the past five years.
His reputation as a fine doctor was remarkable, and when I met this man I knew that everything that I had heard about him was certainly true.
When speaking with Dr. Skinner, is was such a joy to hear the laughter in his voice, to see his devoted love to his wife, and to share with him his love of animals. He made a huge impression on me, one that I,will not forget even though I had met him a few times.
He was just one of those people that took up real estate in your heart.
My deepest condolences to Mrs. Skinner, and the rest of the family. God bless you all

Jean, Bruce, Bobby, Peter, and Lila. Sorry to hear of Ed's passing. Always smiling and quick with some joke or gag that we were sure to pass on. Spent many days of my youth at the house, and He and Jean were not only welcoming, but they were sincerely happy to see you. Qualities passed and continued by all the family. May have been born in C B but he was Pictou County's own. Will be missed by all. Kissie

Jean & Family :
My heartfelt sympathy on Ed's passing. A more dedicated & caring Family Physician ....really he was one of the last of the General Practice Doctors , who did it all.; they don't make them like that these days. Above all a great guy , a unique sense of humor & a super laugh....even after throwing an elbow or two at you in a "friendly" hockey game!!! He was a great asset to Pictou County....& has left a fine legacy , especially in the local medical community.

Our heartfelt condolences to the Skinner family. Ed was one of the first docs I encountered when contemplating moving here to NS. He was so endearing and absolutely loved what he did as a family doc. I felt that his joy and content was the role model I wanted to embrace. He loved life, and embraced it with passion and what a prankster indeed. Always good for a laugh . He will be missed and his legacy will live on. All our love to you all .Anne Kwasnik-Krawczyk and John Krawczyk

Family Members,
My sincere condolences in the passing of Dr. Skinner. One memory that always sticks in my mind was when Dr. Skinner put stiches in my head. I was only six years old. He was so kind and gentle and when he finished he gave me a nickel because I didn't cry. You could buy a lot of candy with a nickel back then. Then many years later I would see him a lot in the hospital and he always had a smile and a friendly hello; Not only was he a awesome doctor, he was a wonderful, beautiful person. Once again, my condolences to you all.

Dear family of Dr Skinner
We wish to send our sincere condolences to you on your great loss .
My husband is the son of McCritchie (Critch) Hayne of Country Harbour . Norman always speaks fondly of Dr Skinner and has spend some fishing trips in a camp with his dad just below Dr Skinners . He continues to go there long after his father has passed.
Our son enjoys the lake with him now .
The Archibald Lake is a place where friends are made and stories are shared .
Norman remembers one time at the camp that Dr Skinner brought his colour TV down to their camp and that all enjoyed a hockey game together .
He says Dr Skinner was the best fly fisherman he has ever seen.
If any of you would ever like to come to the camp on Archibald Lake to be where your loved enjoyed so many fishing trips please contact us if you need assistance with travel there .
Behind every beautiful soul there are a million beautiful memories.
Our sincere sympathy
Norman and Alanna Hayne
