MacDONALD, Bruce M. Pictou MacDONALD, Bruce Michael -62, of Dunromin Terrace, Pictou, passed away suddenly October 9, 2022. Born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland he was a son of the late Bernard & Charlotte MacDonald. Bruce was known as a generous, funny and compassionate soul. Never one to miss an opportunity to share a story, tell a joke, or lend a helping hand. He was a proud member of the Stella Maris Parish and the Knights of Columbus. He was a lifelong hockey fan who cheered for his favourite team, the Montreal Canadians. He enjoyed fishing, reading and listening to music, especially vinyl records. Bruce loved the simple things in life but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his precious family. He was a wonderful husband to his wife of 40 years, Rika MacDonald and a dedicated father to his two girls, Julie Perry and Brenda MacDonald. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Rika (Harbers); daughters, Julie (Scott) Perry, Durham and Brenda (Corey Hall) MacDonald, Crossfield, Alberta; special grandson, Brody Hall; siblings, Maxine (David) Rae, Sharon Brown, Brian (Tara) MacDonald, Jackie (Calvin) Anderson; and his beloved nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 6-9 PM Thursday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Cremation will follow. Funeral Mass will take place 11 AM Saturday from Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Pictou, with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in his memory may be made to the Stella Maris Church or the Canadian Diabetes Association. www.mclarenfuneral.ca
