Helen Eileen Gunn -98, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2022, at the Willow Lodge,Tatamagouche. Helen was born on June 20, 1924 in Marshville, Nova Scotia to the late Calvin and Olive (Johnson) Langille. She grew up in Marshville, Nova Scotia and after high school she attended Normal College in Truro. She taught school in Hedgeville, Louisville and Three Brooks. Later she worked at the River John Co-Op where she met her husband, Lloyd. Helen was a member of the Brule Union Church. She had a talent for sewing and made numerous hand stitched quilts most of which she gifted and were treasured by those who received them. She also knit many pairs of mittens and socks which were shared with family and friends. She is survived by nephews, Evan Baillie, Wayne Langille, Morris MacKinnon, Gordon MacKinnon; nieces, Brenda Zinck, Maurita Craig, Glenda Lee Douglas, Isabel Henderson and Rose Ann Ritcey. She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd and daughter, Joyce; sisters, Jennie Baillie, Olive Munro; brothers, Elmer Langille, Ernest Langille; sisters-in-law, Marion MacKinnon, Mary Ritcey; nephews, John Munro, Donald Langille, Everett Langille, Jack Baillie, Robert Langille, Ronald Langille; nieces, Elaine Reid and Ann Swantee. The family will always be grateful for the excellent care received at the Willow Lodge. A private family service has taken place. Donations in Helen’s memory can be made to the Brule Union Church, Willow Lodge, or a charity of your choice.
