CAMERON, Mary Anne Pictou On Friday, November 4, 2022, Mary Anne Cameron (RN), passed away at the age of eighty four. Born in River John on February 24, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Laird and Esther (Moland) Dwyer. Mary Anne enjoyed a life full of adventure. She loved to travel and enjoyed her winter months spent with Gordie in Barbados. Her last voyage was spent aboard as a Crewmate on the Picton Castle sailing the world. She looked forward to the time spent hunting alongside Gordie, fishing, and gardening at her cottage in Country Harbour. Mary Anne attended Seafoam School, Pictou Academy and West Pictou High School. She attended the Grace Maternity Hospital in Halifax and graduated as a Grace Grad. After working at Sutherland Harris Memorial Hospital she returned to the Halifax Infirmary and graduated as an RN. Following her retirement, she worked in real-estate as an agent for Century 21. She was a member of St. James Anglican Church, Pictou, and was actively involved in the choir. She was a member of the Monarchist League. She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Cameron; her brother, Larry Dwyer; sister, Leona (Dwyer) Heighton; brother-in-law, James Cox; step- father, Howard MacLean; step-brother, Alfred MacLean and sister-in-law, Judy (Wilkins) Dwyer. She is survived by her sister, Maxine Cox; brothers, Charles (Eva) Dwyer; Bob (Bev) Dwyer, David (Carolyn) Dwyer; step-sister, Doris (Keith) MacDonald and many nieces and nephews. In honoring Mary Anne’s wishes there will be no visitation and a private graveside service will be held at a later date.
