BRIMICOMBE, Dolly Truro With deep sadness we share the loss of Dolena “Dolly” Brimicombe on Nov.15, at CEHHCC, Truro. She was born Nov.8, 1949 in Inverness, Cape Breton to the late Rev. Charles A. and Elizabeth J. MacDonald. She was a caring daughter, loving sister, devoted mother and a nurturing “Nanny B” to her grandsons. Under that auburn hair lay a strong, determined woman who persevered through health challenges. In her prime, Dolly was a meticulous homemaker, talented cook and champion bowler. Dolly spent most of her dedicated nursing career as a CNA/RNA in Sudbury when she resided there and in Hanmer with her former husband, Mike Brimicombe. She is survived by her sons, Robert “Bob” and Jonathan (Susie Robinson, her daughters, Carly and Tayah); grandsons, Devon and Matthew (their mother, Joelle) and Alex Leduc (his mother, Julie Leduc) all of Ontario. Dolly is also survived by her caring sisters, Rev. Mary Anne (Peter) Grant, E. Margaret MacDonald and Charlotte MacDonald (Don Procyk); nieces, nephews, cousins and the MacDonald/Brimicombe extended families. The family wishes to extend gratitude to Cedarstone EC, her healthcare teams and her sisters for their care. Cremation has taken place under direction of McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. A Celebration of Life will be held 2p.m., Dec.6 at Hardwood Lands Presbyterian Church, with internment to follow at a later date in Goose Cove Cemetery, Cape Breton. Donations may be made to the Canadian Lung Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of choice.
