Obituary of Michael Donald Hugh MacNeil

MacNEIL, Michael D.H. Pictou MacNEIL, Michael Donald Hugh, of Pictou, passed away peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, on Thursday December 1st. He was a son of the late Pat and Roberta MacNeil. Mike was a Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He enjoyed karate and baseball in his younger years. He also enjoyed listening to country music, especially when his wife Bridget would sing. Mike is survived by his wife of 48 years, Bridget MacNeil (O’Donnell); sons, Jim, Chris, Daniel; daughter, Donna; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; brothers, Lloyd (Darlene), Kevin, John (Yvette); sisters, Darlene (Robbie), Denise (Mike), and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers, Jim, Drummond, Bob, Raymond; and niece, Natalie. The family will be holding a celebration of life on Sunday, December 4th from 6-9 PM in the Pictou Legion Lounge. A private family committal will be held at a later date in St. John’s Cemetery, Trenton. Donations in his memory may be made to the SPCA or Pictou County Food Bank. Tear drops, slow and steady, the pain so real and true. God took another angel. And that angel dear, was you.
