HAYMAN, Diane M. Lyons Brook It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diane Margaret Hayman of Lyons Brook, on December 22, 2022 in the Palliative Care Unit at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. She was born September 19, 1944 in Murray Harbour, PEI. She was predeceased by her parents Parker and Laura Lewis; half brothers, Austin, Heston White and sister, Dorothy Lewis. Diane was an active member, where she held many offices of Princess Rebekah Lodge #4, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Pictou and New Horizons Seniors Club, where she enjoyed many friendships. She was also a volunteer with the Pictou West Food Bank. During her working career, she worked at many Sears Catalogue locations across Canada and in later years provided home care. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Bill; her son, Raymond (Donna), West Branch; daughter, Janet (John) Pelerine, Cambridge, ON. She adored her three granddaughters, Krista (Marc) Harnish, Katie Hayman and Leslie Pelerine. She was so proud of her two great-granddaughters, Zoe and Alice Harnish. She is also survived by her brother, Fred Lewis (Joanne), Lyons Brook; as well as several nieces and nephews. Diane and Bill enjoyed many summers with friends and family at their cottage on the north side of Pictou Island, going to their trailer in Zephyrhills, Florida for the winter months, and most recently their trailer at Old Orchard, Braeshore. She loved going to the jams with Bill as he played the guitar and she sang along and tapped her toes. She enjoyed baking and always had a biscuit, cookies or a piece of pie and some tea whenever friends dropped in. The family would like to thank the Infusion Clinic at the Aberdeen Hospital where she received treatment for multiple myeloma. Also, most recently the ER, ICU and Palliative Care Unit, where she received excellent compassionate care. Visitation will be held Thursday December 29th from 1-3 PM at McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou, with the funeral to follow at 3 PM. Family flowers only, by request. Donations may be made in Diane’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
