BOUDREAU, Nancy E. (MacKay) Pictou September 18, 1959 - January 21, 2023. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend. Nancy passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023 peacefully at her home, surrounded by those she loved the most, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Pictou, she was a daughter of Alexina ‘Jemima’ (MacIsaac) and the late Franklin MacKay. Nancy was an employee of the NSLC for 33 years prior to her retirement and served as treasurer for NSGEU Local 470. She volunteered with many organizations such as Kinettes, Pictou Minor Hockey, and was well known and loved in her hometown of Pictou. Nancy’s pride and joy were her 3 boys and her grandchildren. She was the center of our family, the ultimate planner for any family events, and took pride in organizing all of our get-togethers, which happened multiple times a year thanks to her love of having us all together. Nancy will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 46 years Mike, 3 sons, Mike Jr. (Nancy), Robert (Jenn), and Chris (Sherri); 6 grandchildren, Shelby, Abby, Madison, Emily, Megan and Noah; brother, Frank (Trudy); sisters, Jo-Anne and Darlene (Kevin); sister-in-law, Martha (Tom); uncle Colin MacIsaac; several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She was very excited for the arrival of her first great-grandchild Everlee Grace coming in June 2023. Nancy was predeceased by her father, Franklin MacKay; brother-in-law, Greg McNamara; sister-in-law, Isabelle, and nephew, Kenny. The family would like to send a special thank you to the Palliative Care Team at the Aberdeen Hospital and the VON for their wonderful care and compassion during this difficult time. Visitation will take place at McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou, Thursday, January 26th from 7 to 9 p.m. Graveside service to take place at Seaview Cemetery, Friday, January 27th, 11am. Reception to follow at the Stella Maris Catholic Church Hall, Pictou. In lieu of flowers donations in Nancy’s memory may be made to Victoria’s Quilts Canada or the NSGEU Cancer Support Fund.
