Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of Colin?
A: His name- he shared the same name as my grandfather and my brother. However it was his chivalry that touched me most. Even in his weakest state he stood to greet me as his visiting nurse. My heart was rocked by such a honourable effort made and I will remember him. I was honoured to be present to support him and his lovely family. Well done, Sir, may you receive your heavenly reward. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

To all of Colin’s family, I offer my sincere condolences. He was one of a kind. A true gentleman, a man with a great sense of humour and always a kind greeting. What a blessing to you he must have been. I heard many wonderful stories from mom and Rosie and Stu over the yrs. It was always pleasure of chatting with him and Juliette at church or community events. They were two of the kindest people I have ever met. May you be comforted by your countless memories and the love and prayers of others who cared for him so much.
With deepest sympathy,
Lisa (Jollymore) Smith

Colin and Juliette, my great uncle and aunt, and my Godparents. Some of my most cherished and wonderful childhood memories are of Christmas visits from them. Yes, they'd always bring me a special gift, but just the anticipation of knowing they were coming just for me, sorry to my siblings whom I love dearly, but, this was something so special just for me. I'd follow Colin around at a party years later and question him about his military days and regale him with my own military stories. He is a large part of why I'm proud to serve in the Canadian Military and a man I deeply admire. Colin, godfather, you will be missed and I know you and my godmother, your beloved Juliette, are happily together again.

I knew Colin my whole life. I will always remember him as being extremely kind and helpful. I was lucky enough to reconnect with him when I came back to Pictou to care for my dad. Colin and Julie were always there for me through that trying time. I will miss his laughter and my favorite, playing cards with him. To his family, I don't have to tell you how much love he had for you all! RIP dear sweet Colin. I hope you, Julie and mom and dad are all together again. ❤️
