Obituary of Gerald Hugh MacKay

MacKAY, Gerald H. Halifax We are very sorry to announce the passing of Gerald Hugh MacKay, age 66, on October 3, 2023 at the VG Hospital, Halifax. Gerald spent his early years in Elmfield, Pictou County. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, sports such as badminton and soccer. Carpentry was Gerald’s vocation where he excelled. Moving to Halifax, he worked on various projects engaging his superior skills. He was predeceased by parents, Murray and Hazel (McCara) MacKay. Gerald is survived by son, Brandon; brother, Ronald (Darlene); sister, Jocelyn (Kenny) Sutherland; nephew, Kyle; many cousins and friends; pool shooting buddies, Dave Forbes and Mike Crawley, Halifax. Gerald was hardworking, generous to a fault, always willing to help anyone. Cremation has taken place with a private family ceremony at a later date.
