JAMIESON, Dorothy Mae (née Rae)
Age 93, of Pictou
It is with great sadness that we, the family announce the sudden passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and aunt, surrounded by her family at the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow on December 8, 2023. She was the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Sarson) Rae of Pictou. Born on August 22, 1930. She is survived by her sons, Sylvester Jr. (Joanie), Roger (Rose), Bob (Betty Ann), David (Helena), Terry (Chrissie), Doug (Patsy); daughters, Linda (Gilbert) Greencorn, Janet (Jerome) Porter, Marg (Norm) Rhynold, Cindy (John) Myatt, Beverly (Peter) Burke; daughter in law, Nancy (Rodney). Mom is survived by her 27 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews all who she adored. Mom spent most of her life in Philips Harbour until she moved back to Pictou in 2000 to spend more time with her only sister and brothers. Mom loved to knit, doing crossword books, and spending time with her special friends at the complex. Mom enjoyed all the outings and spending time with her family. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Sylvester ‘Buster’ Jamieson; two children in infancy, Barry and Helen; son, Kenny; sister, Kathleen, and brothers, Richard, Robert and Roy. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Cremation has taken place and visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m on Tuesday December 12, at McLaren Funeral Home, 246 Faulkland Street, Pictou. Graveside service to follow on Wednesday December 13, at Christ Church, Queensport, Guysborough County at 2 p.m. with reception to follow Chedabucto Fire Hall, Queensport. Family flowers only please.
