Many good memories of Moon while being their family paperboy in the late 60's, later working with him in the early 80's at the Shipyards as a pipefitter and a fellow member of Local 244.
It's amazing to see how involved he was with the promotion of Pictou in so many different capacities, a great legacy that the town can be very grateful for.
Rest in peace brother and may God's peace and comfort be with Margie and the family during these difficult days.

My sincere condolences to Margie and family. I grew up with Moon and he spent a lot of time at my mother’s home in Pictou. We also served together in the Highlanders and also Moon was the coach of our hockey team. A lot of fond memories. Just an all around great guy. He will be missed by many. Again my sincere condolences . Gary W osmond

Margie, Andrew/Myrna, Anna/Casey...it was with sense of sadness that I learned of Lawrence's passing. Every time our paths crossed we always enjoyed a sharing a story or two, often filled with humor and historical nuggets that were more than likely half truth and half fiction. It is so true that Lawrence was deeply proud of his hometown of Pictou, but even more so his family and their numerous achievements. I know you will miss his presence, however he has left with many fond memories to cherish...godspeed

To Margie And Family: Our sincere condolences on Moon's passing - he will certainly be missed. Moon was mayor of Pictou for several years and always made himself readily available to Pictonians who wanted to have a word with him about town affairs.. He was very supportive of the Pictou Fire Department. and the many other organizations in which he was involved... He was so proud of granddaughter Anna, the "apple of his eye"'.

Our sincere condolences to Margie and Family on Moon's passing. One would have to think long and hard to think of one who was a stronger supporter of the Town of Pictou. A colourful character who tackled all the issues he faced with grit and determination. He will be missed...

I served under Lawrence LeBlanc in the 1 St Battalion Nova Scotia Highlanders in Pictou. He was an inspiration to me because of his love and respect of the unit. We all feared him when we messed up and he gave a lecture to correct our mistakes. He was a perfectionist when he was on parade. He would not expect anything less from the members of his unit. I learnt some good habits serving under Moon and he helped me overcome my shyness. Moon was a fun person not on parade to. I moved away from home, but I always kept tabs on what he was doing. I read his obituary and he certainly had continued to do well in whatever he was involved with and his dedication to his Town of Pictou. Three cheers for Moon. John (Brooks) O'Toole
