My heartfelt sympathy on Pat's passing. A life well lived for sure. A great community guy & how will Stella Maris continue without his constant support over many years?? Of course being a member of the McCarthy clan ., how could he not be a big support to me in in the 70's & a few years as the Liberal MLA for Pictou West. May he rest in Peace.

Our sincere sympathy is extended to Elinor and family on the passing of a true gentleman, Pat. We were first introduced to Pat and Elinor through our good friends Fred and Vera Otter. Throughout the years we would continue to have some great conversations and laughs with them both at parties and visits at Fred and Vera’s and at Billie’s and Linda’s. We will always fondly remember Pat as a quiet spoken, friendly gentleman who loved to share stories of his family, his adventures on the bus with the Heatherbells and his friendship with the Otters. Rest Easy Pat❤️ from a life well lived. With our deepest condolences - Rae and Christy Hayman

Very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing, Shawn. I do know your Mom but did not have the good fortune to know your Dad. Please pass on our sincere condolences to her, as well. Your Dad certainly lived a long and eventful life and I'm sure helped many people in the Town of Pictou and beyond. I was particularly interested in your Dad's interest in David MacCarthy's boathouse. I know David's family well and I'm sure he was a great advisor to them. May God be with you and Jim and the rest of the family during this sad time, Robert

To Elinor & Family-
Pat and the Murphy family have always been a big part of Stella Maris. I had summer employment at Hamilton's so I saw Pat there. I was in Sea Cadets and he was there. His marriage to Elinor was one that was an example for the rest of us. Quite a pair!! Elinor will always be Special to me.The transition to his new home will be easy. Upon arrival at the Gate he will be admitted. No further investigation necessary. My prayers and thoughts for all of you.

Sheila and I want to extend our thoughts and prayers to Elnor and the Murphy family on the passing of their beloved husband and father Pat.
Pat was my friend for over 50 years, first having met him when I jointed Sea cadets as a teenager, Pat was the CO and after a few years I succeeded him as the Corp commander.
After his retirement Pat joined me and the Heatherbells as our driver and designated grandfather and we enjoyed many "Excellent Adventures " as we traveled from Newfoundland , to the USA , the Calgary Stampeed and dozens of events around the Maritimes.
We were fellow Knights of Columbus and Pat was always there to support all our projects and church activities.
About the only thing we did not agree on was his enduring support of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
He was most proud of his girls and his granddaughters and any conversation led to him telling you of how they were doing in their respective lives.
Pats had a life that was well lived and he was well loved. I will miss him . May he rest in the peace of Christ.
