STEWART, Gordon Austin
Scotsburn
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon Austin Stewart, 87, of Scotsburn. He was a hardworking, family man with a witty sense of humor. He had a wealth of knowledge and those who know him say he can build anything out of nothing. He worked at the Lumber Mill in Scotsburn for many years but he truly loved working in his garage on trucks, tractors and just about anything he could do to help someone out. When he wasn't out in the garage he was well known for baking bread, biscuits, cakes and much more. He’d always let us know if “it wasn't fit for the crows” and could always tell if the pies were “real” or not. We will greatly miss his funny remarks. Austin is survived by his daughters, Lynn Stewart, Lorraine (Tim) Van Veen; grandchildren, Cody and Britney Van Veen, and great-grandchild, Barrett. He also leaves behind his brother, Fraser; and sisters, Mildred and Elaine (Roy Miller), along with nieces and great-nieces and nephews. We will miss him greatly but know he will rest happily with his love of life, Clara Stewart. A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
