Dear Muriel and family: Sincere condolences to you and your children. I was so sad to hear of Rose's passing.
Rose was just so full-of love and joy. I attended Group Therapy many years ago which was unforgettable and I feel so blessed to have had Rose in my life.

No one who has walked, run, cried, played, prayed, and danced with Rose could ever be a passive partner on this amazing life journey. Rose simply wouldn’t allow non-participation. She was a healer, teacher, and remarkable friend who taught us all that the ultimate journey home is one of love and forgiveness. We are all better for Rose’s life and will keep her close in our hearts and memories. Much love our friend. Bill and Joyce

Rose Johston was one of the most amazing women I have had the honour of knowing! Vibrant, passionate, dynamic are but a few of the adjectives I could use to describe Rose. I will mourn her passing because I am selfish and wish she was still here. Safe journey, Rose.

Rose was an amazing woman. We knew each other in the world of sport and in the community. As an athlete, she was unstoppable - always striving and playing with sportsmanship. She had a wonderful sense of humour. We competed on and off the court and on the track - I was always at her "heels". Rose ran like the wind!
Sending love and kindness to Rose and her family as she passes on.

To us all, may we remember Rose’s Strength and Couage and be inspired to face what’s next for us, including death, when it comes our time. This song says it all: “like the Rose, we are stronger than we know...”

I'm so grateful we made the effort to visit Auntie Rose and Muriel in August 2022 when we visited the maritimes. We hadn't seen Rose and Muriel since we visited them on the south shore in 2013 and it was wonderful to reconnect in 2022. I was reminded that Rose is a kindred spirit. We share not only a medical degree but a deep desire to find ways of integrating holism into our practice. We've both had the pleasure of working in both arrivals (births) and departures (palliative care), and had wonderful conversations about the call to this sacred work. We also share a deep desire to know ourselves on a deep, spiritual level and feel drawn to a variety of ways of connecting to our deeper nature. My heart is full as I recall our voicemail exchanges over Rose's final days. She is a deeply caring wonderful soul. I'm so honored to have been part of each other's lives. We'll miss you ... and I know you're always here ❤️

The very first encounter I had with Rose was at Wild Womyn. She radiated joy, and I couldn't help but suspect that she had discovered the profound depths of true love with the remarkable woman by her side.
Rose possessed an innate ability to engage others effortlessly, drawing them into her magnetic sphere of playfulness and connection. I recall at that gathering when she spontaneously performed a headstand that brought smiles and laughter to all who witnessed it. Her fearlessness and willingness to embrace the joy of the present moment were truly captivating.
Yet, it was a more intimate memory that truly showcased her profound wisdom and compassion. Once, she entrusted me with a task that may have seemed insignificant to others but held great meaning for me. With a gentle touch, she handed me a needle and requested my assistance in removing a tiny splinter from her finger. In that moment, I felt overwhelmed because she was a skilled physician herself.
But Rose, with her infinite empathy and understanding, reassured me in a way that touched my very soul. She reminded me that healing is not confined to the boundaries of a profession or a title. Her words echoed in my mind long after the splinter had been carefully removed. She taught me that healing comes from the essence of our being, from the genuine desire to bring comfort and solace to those in need. Her wisdom shifted my perspective, unlocking a strong belief in my own ability to make a difference in the lives of others.
Life's unpredictable twists and turns eventually led me down different paths, causing us to lose touch. However, the impact she made on my life remains unwavering, etched permanently in the fabric of my being. Her radiant spirit, her unwavering joy, and her profound wisdom continue to inspire me to this very day. The memory of Rose is an everlasting reminder of the transformative power of love, compassion, and the beauty of the human spirit.
