Obituary of Michael Samuel Gaunce

Michael Samuel Gaunce 1962 - 2024 Michael Gaunce of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, passed away on March 4, 2024 at the Aberdeen Hospital, in New Glasgow, N.S.. He was born October 27, 1962 in Bath, N.B. and was the son of the late Christopher and Florence Gaunce. Mike was also predeceased by his special Aunt Etha, who always kept an eye out for him. Mike is survived by his brothers Jim Gaunce (Sandra), Peter Gaunce (Pamela), and Seth Gaunce (Valerie), as well as nieces Shawna, Dayna, Casey, Erin and Emily and nephew Logan; also grand nieces Harlow, Leni, Florence, Sadie and Charlotte and grand nephew Avery. Mike was a man of many interests including geology, computers, music and was an avid reader. He loved reading books. In his younger days, Mike enjoyed canoeing some of New Brunswick's wild rivers with friends and Uncle Fred. The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff of Aberdeen Hospital for their excellent and compassionate care of Mike during his stay there, as well as his friends who faithfully visited with him. A graveside service, date yet to be determined, will be conducted later in the spring or summer at the Wharton Cemetery in Upper Kent, New Brunswick. If so desired, donations may be made to the Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are being handled by L. R.
