BRAY, D.A. ‘Sandy’ Scotch Hill It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Alexander ‘Sandy’ Bray announce his passing on March 18, 2024, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Sandy was born on August 27, 1944, to the late Donald and Elizabeth (Davidson) Bray. After retiring from Michelin following his 30-year career, he enjoyed spending his time camping, playing bingo, woodworking and tinkering on cars. He is survived by his daughter, Crystal (Rob); grandson, Cody; granddaughter, Megan (Scott); sister, Tootsie McRae (Harold), Jessie Casey (Ket), Peggy Echlin (Bill), Norma (Leonard), Donna (Sandy); brothers, Gary (Irene), Billy (Debbie) and Ricky (Leah). Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Margaret ‘Peggy’; brothers, Allan and Nicky; sister, Elsie Slaunwhite; and brother-in-law, Leonard Lynch. The family would like to extend a special thank you to his sister-in-law, Nellie Bray, goddaughter, Shelly Bray and niece, Marilyn Bray for the love and support they have shown for both dad and our family. You were our rocks when we needed you most. A special thank you to Bill and Peggy Echlin for the countless trips to Halifax for treatment and Dr.’s appointments. Your kindness will always be remembered. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 6-9 PM Friday at McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. The funeral will take place 1 PM Saturday at McLaren Funeral Home with Rev. Mary-Beth Moriarity officiating. Donations in Sandy’s memory may be made to the SPCA. www.mclarenfuneral.ca
