New Glasgow
RODGERS, Carole Frances “Mickie” (née Eisan) - 82 of New Glasgow, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2024 in Aberdeen Hospital. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Helen (Conway) Eisan. In her younger days, Carole figure skated with the Silver Blades skating club in Halifax where she met, and figure skated with Norman. She worked in the cosmetics department at Simpsons in Dartmouth and sold Avon for many years in Cole Harbour. Eventually moving to Kentville to work alongside Norman operating their convenience stores and restaurant. Later in life she moved to the Eastern Shore and then made her way to New Glasgow. Carole enjoyed various arts and crafts throughout her life and loved to watch curling, figure skating and her favourite shows. Carole is survived by husband, Norman; daughter, Sharon, West Chezzetcook; son, Robert (Dawn), New Glasgow; grandson, Dustin, Trenton, ON; sister, Sybil Spriggs, Bedford and her brothers, Leroy (Joan) Eisan, Clementsport; Michael Nelson, Newfoundland; sister-in-law, Moira Eisan, Courtenay, BC; many nieces and nephews; furbaby, Abby and grand furbaby, Chance whom she affectionately called “Nannie’s Boy”. Carole was predeceased by sisters, Juanita Smith, Sheila Pompeo and Mary LeBlanc and brothers, Earl, Melvyn, Kenn, and infant brother, Carl. Carole’s family wishes to thank Lisa and nursing staff in the Aberdeen Hospital Intensive Care Unit for the excellent compassionate care that she received. Cremation has taken place. Celebration of life to be held Sunday May 19th, 2024 at The Linq 218 Basswood Run, Dartmouth, NS B2W 0H9 from 2-4 PM. Family Burial to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Aberdeen Hospital Foundation, Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) Pictou County Branch, or the charity of one’s choice.
