Obituary of Vendres Catherine Bezanson

BEZANSON, Vendres C. Plainfield It is with great sadness the family announce the passing of Vendres Catherine Bezanson, age 81 of Plainfield, on May 10, 2024 in the Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou, where she resided for the last year. Born in Diamond on April 2, 1943, she was a daughter of the late James and Jessie (Tattrie) MacKay. She was a loving, compassionate, kind and caring person. She enjoyed belonging to the West Branch Singers, volunteering in her community and above all having family and friends stop by for a visit. She has love for all animals, especially her two cats, Garfield and Misty. She is survived by her sons, Eben (Elizabeth) Bezanson, West Branch; Colin (Stephanie) Bezanson, Cambridge Bay, Nunavut; daughter, Patsy (Chris) Bezanson, West Branch; granddaughters, Morgan, Anna, their mother, Lorelei, and Sara, each holding a special place in her heart; sister, Darlene Murphy, Truro; brothers, Harland and Lyman MacKay, Four Mile Brook; sister-in-law, Phyllis Mitchell, Ontario; special aunt, Ruth Smith and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred in 2011; daughter, Donna; son, James; sisters, Eunice, Lorraine, Mary and Geraldene. The family would like to thank the staff of Shiretown Nursing Home who provided outstanding care to Mom. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6-8 PM at McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will take place Thursday at 2 PM in the West Branch United Church with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.
