LINTHORNE, Robert Harvey ‘Bob’ Scotch Hill With his loving wife by his side, Bob, age 74, passed away at his home in Scotch Hill on May 20, 2024 after a recent cancer diagnosis. Born on July 30, 1949, Bob was a son of the late Harvey and Marjorie (Curry) Linthorne of Stellarton. Bob very much enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at his camp in Guysborough with Barb and all who would join him. Bob and Barb met at a dance at the Stellarton Legion, but their relationship really flourished when Bob joined the carnival that came to town and he continued working on the Bill Lynch Show. Married in September of 1977, Bob loved no one more than Barb. Bob was a member of the Labourers Union (LiUNA 615) and worked many labour and construction jobs over the years including driving a truck, working the pipeline, building bridges, and working shut-downs at the Mill. He had a hand in building the Confederation Bridge and the Michelin Tire plant. He was also a former Town of Pictou employee who worked on the roads, the water main, and drove a snow plow. Bob was a long standing Legion member and loved to have a good time and talk with friends. Bob is survived by his children, Violet (Rob), Bobbie (Maria); stepchildren, Cathy and Edie; brothers, Gerald (Shelly), Herald (Debbie); sisters, Grace, Helen (Mac), Sharon (Mike); grandchildren, Amanda, Jacqueline, Kyle, Jamie, Faye, and Billie Jean; as well as 11 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by daughter, Rosetta; brother, Fred; sisters, Brenda, Marjorie Joyce, Marlene, Heather, and Jeanette. Bob will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and in-laws. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Stellarton Legion, on Friday May 24th at 7pm.
