Liz, we were sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. Even though we didn’t know her, used to see her out in her yard on my walks pulling those weeds. What an amazing long life she had, you will always have those memories to cherish. Thinking of you and your family at this sad time.

I spent a lot of time at Jean's house with Elizabeth in my younger days in Waterside. She was a lovely lady, always so kind and welcoming. It was my second home in those days. I have so many fond and funny memories. She was my "second mom".
Dana and I send our deepest condolences to Liz, Kay and their families at this sad time.

Our deepest condolences to Kay, Elizabeth and all of Jeans grandchildren who she was so proud of. I still think of her when driving by and she was in her 90's and would see her bending over and picking up twigs on her property and thinking I sure hope I can do that at 90. When I asked my mom a few years ago who was someone she admired and looked up to in her life, she very quickly said it was Jean and she would always tell the story of how her and Jean travelled the Jitney train to go to school when Jean taught school in Loch Broom. And in their last years they lived next to each other and shared lots of stories and laughter over a good cup of tea. Jean was very blessed to have a loving and caring family who provided and cared for her during her 97 years. RIP Jean

So sorry to learn of Jean’s passing. My friendship began when she was my grade 4 teacher at Dawson School. I never was strapped but two things stick in my mind back then. We always had to go out at recess regardless of the weather and when it was rainy her advice was it wouldn’t hurt is as we weren’t sugar cubes. When we ate our apples at lunch time some students would throw away a large core. She challenged us to see who could eat their apple to the stem. To this day when I still do that I think of her often. We had wonderful conversations over the years and how blessed you were to have her all these years. She lived such a full life. May your memories keep her forever close.
