In 1956 she graduated from Nursing School at Saint John General, NB and accepted a position as a RN in Plaster Rock, NB where she met her future husband James Lawyer and they eventually had 4 children. Elaine enjoyed many things over her lifetime from reading, sewing, knitting, cooking and playing bridge to name a few but one of her main passions was genealogy and she enjoyed a few excursions in search of information to fill in the missing blanks on the family tree. She had a great love and compassion for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed all the time she spent with them along with hearing updates and seeing pictures and videos that were shared with her. She is survived by her children, Ian (Brigitte), Karen Elmers, Mark (Paulette) and Sarah (Jim) Marshall; grandchildren, Laura, Lisa, Michael, Amber, Mandy, Jeffrey, Angela; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Nancy Reville; and brothers, Bev and Wayne (Margaret). She leaves behind many wonderful nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, James Lawyer; sisters, Francis Bickerstaff, Marjorie Rippin; brothers, Daniel, Charles, Harry and Hartley Spofford; and son-in-law, David Elmers The family would like to extend special thanks to her Nurse Practitioner Jennifer Hurley and the staff at the Aberdeen Hospital. We will be forever grateful for the care and kindness you provided. As per Mom’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held and a celebration of life will be held at a future date. In her memory please do a kind deed for someone in need. Those we love don’t go away, they are beside us everyday.
