LANGILLE, Harold ‘Wayne’ River John It is with great sadness that the family of H. Wayne Langille of River John, announce his sudden passing on Friday November 22, 2024, at the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche, NS. Wayne was born August 2, 1945, and was the chosen son of the late Elsford and Margaret (Heighton) Langille. Wayne attended West Pictou District High School and graduated in 1964. He grew up in Cape John near the wharf and seashore and was always drawn to the ocean. Wayne spent 44 years as a commercial fisherman fishing lobsters, scallops, groundfish and dragging Irish moss. During his lifetime Wayne was an avid inventor. He built windmills and solar panels, built and flew ultra lights and trikes. He could always be found creating and improving his latest projects in his building. He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and listening to country and gospel music. Wayne had great faith and found comfort in the Lord. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Marie (nee Dwyer); son, Mark (Cathy); daughter, Nicole (Todd); grandchildren, Andy and Trevor and his cat, Willie. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Mattie Dwyer, sister-in-law, Evelyn (Donald) Brown; brother-in-law, Robert Dwyer and sibling, Mae Sharpe; nieces and nephews, Elta, Lawrance, Willis, Brian and Kevin and Lisa Brown. He was predeceased by his father-in-law, William Dwyer and sibling, Goldie Brayley. Thank you to the staff of Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Dr. Robert Bush and Dr. Sean Taylor, Halifax, for their compassionate care shown to Wayne during his brief illness with ALS. Visitation will be held Wednesday November 27 from 10-11 AM followed by a funeral service at 11 AM at St. George’s Presbyterian Church, River John, with Rev. Enjei Achah and David Sutherland presiding. Interment in Hamilton Cemetery. Reception to follow at the church hall. Donations in Wayne’s memory may be made to the Palliative Care at Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital or Hamilton Cemetery.
