MacFARLANE, Frank S. Three Brooks December 29, 1943 – December 1, 2024 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frank Seymour MacFarlane, a cherished husband, father, and friend, who peacefully departed this life on December 1, 2024, at the age of 80. Known for his unwavering kindness, generosity, and warm smile, Dad left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. Born on December 29, 1943 in Three Brooks, Dad grew up with a deep commitment to his family and community. Affectionately referred to as the Mayor of Three Brooks, over the years he became a pillar of the community, dedicating countless hours to serving others. Whether lending a helping hand, sharing a story, or simply offering a listening ear, Dad was the embodiment of selflessness and loyalty. Dad was a devoted husband and a loving father. He took immense pride in his family, finding joy in their achievements and strength in their love for one another. He was also a friend to many and someone you could always count on. He will be missed by his morning coffee buddies, and his Saturday darts pals at "the barn". The family home was a haven where laughter, stories, and love were always in abundance. Beyond his family and friends, Dad was deeply involved in the Caribou Fire Department. He was a founding member and volunteered countless hours over several decades. Up until his death, he could still be found most days spending time with friends and fellow firefighters at the station. Dad’s work career spanned over 35 years at Canso Chemicals. Although he never talked about it, he never missed one day of work in all of those years. His dedication and selflessness earned him the respect and admiration of all who crossed his path. He is survived by his three children, Todd (Vicki), Karla (Neal), and Frank (Christine) and grandchildren, Chloe (Regan), Jack (Lexi), Sam, Ian, Neal and Joel. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda (Hadley) MacFarlane; parents, James and Annie MacFarlane (MacKinnon); his brothers, Ivan and Keith; and most recently, his loving partner, Leona Clarke. Dad’s funeral will be held on December 6 at 2:00 pm from St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church located at 105 Coleraine Street, Pictou, with Pat Wilson and Rev. Mary-Beth Moriarity officiating. Following the funeral, there will be a reception held at Caribou District Fire Department. Rest in peace, Dad. You will be deeply missed but forever remembered. If you wish, donations can be made in Dad’s honour to the Caribou and District Fire Department or a charity of your choice. Video recording: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPp073ATTHs
