LINKLETTER, Bonnie Lorraine. of Pictou, was born May 17, 1950, and passed away July 19, 2018 in the Palliative Care Unit of Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, after a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer.  She is survived by her husband and best friend of 47  years, Borden Douglas; a brother, Paul Wood (Audrey), Havelock, Ontario; nieces, Victoria (Jeff), Tasha; grandnephew and grandniece, Ben and Brooke.  Bonnie was a Registered Nurse who had a 46 year career in health care management, with a focus on long term care, and most recently before retirement. managed the Shiretown and Ivey Terrace Nursing Homes.  She was always dedicated to the residents and staff welfare.  She served her church, St Andrew’s (The Kirk) in Pictou as a ruling elder since 2007.  We wish to thank the following for their excellent care during her illness: Dr. Kaiprath, Dr. Kwasnik , Dr Jeyakumar, Debbie Williams R.N., VON Staff, and a special thanks to our close friends, Marty ‘Bud’ Myles and Ann Buell.  There will be no visitation or service by request.  Cremation has taken place.  Arrangements are under the direction of McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou.  Donations in her memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or The Lodge That Gives.
